Refund Policy

When you get your money back and how to ask for it, for Pro on the Mac (sold through Paddle) and on the iPhone (sold through Apple).

Last updated: 6 October 2026

In short

You can try Note Way for free before you pay (section 4 of the Terms). This page sums up what applies under our Terms, the terms of Paddle and Apple, and the law. Your statutory rights are never affected.

1. Who sells to you and who refunds

1.1 Mac: Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Limited, London) is the Merchant of Record for all our orders on the Mac. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries about orders and payments and handles returns. Paddle's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy apply.

1.2 iPhone: you buy Pro in the App Store from Apple. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds go through Apple, under Apple's terms (section 6).

1.3 We don't collect or pay out any money ourselves. Whatever we promise you for purchases on the Mac, we carry out through Paddle. Under its Refund Policy, Paddle always applies the rights that are best for you, including rights we give you on top.

2. Withdrawal within 14 days (consumers)

2.1 As a consumer in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from buying Pro on the Mac within 14 days. This applies to the first payment of a subscription, not to later renewals. If you bought in the United Kingdom and have a yearly plan, a new 14-day period starts with every renewal. For consumers in other countries, the rules in section 2 of Paddle's Refund Policy apply.

2.2 How to withdraw:

Your withdrawal is in time if you send it before the 14 days are over.

2.3 If you withdraw in time, Paddle refunds your money within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal. If you asked for Pro to start during the withdrawal period, you may have to pay for the part of the service provided until you withdrew; the refund is then smaller accordingly (section 7.2 of the Terms).

2.4 The details are in section 7 of our Terms and in Paddle's terms. For purchases on the iPhone, you withdraw towards Apple (section 6).

3. After the 14 days

3.1 If you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the month or year you paid for, and nothing more is charged. There is no money back for a billing period that has started, except in the cases in sections 3.3 and 4. How to cancel is in section 6.3 of the Terms. For the Mac, you can also do it without signing in, with "Cancel contracts here" at the bottom of every page (noteway.ai/cancel).

3.2 Paddle may give a voluntary refund in individual cases if you ask within 14 days of the payment. There is no right to it (Paddle's Refund Policy, section 7).

3.3 Yearly plan after the first year (consumers): after the first year, you can cancel your yearly plan at any time with one month's notice (section 6.2 of the Terms). We refund the part of the fee paid in advance for the time after your plan ends, pro rata. The payout goes through Paddle.

4. If Note Way doesn't work

4.1 If Note Way doesn't work as described, please write to us first at hello@noteway.ai, so we can fix the problem.

4.2 As a consumer, you have the statutory rights for digital products (§§ 327 et seq. BGB, section 14 of the Terms). If we can't fix a material defect, contact Paddle with our reply (paddle.net). Paddle then refunds in line with the applicable consumer protection laws (Paddle's Refund Policy, section 4).

5. How a refund works

5.1 Refunds go to the payment method you paid with, where possible. Paddle pays out within 14 days of approving the refund, or within 14 days of receiving a withdrawal. Paddle sends you a credit note by email for every refund.

5.2 A refund ends your access to Pro; for a pro-rata refund under section 3.3, at the end of your plan. Your account and your content stay (section 6.5 of the Terms).

5.3 Please get in touch with us or with Paddle before you have a payment reversed through your bank or card provider. It is usually faster this way. While a chargeback is being reviewed, access to Pro may be suspended for the time being (Paddle's Refund Policy, section 6). Your right to dispute a payment is not affected.

6. iPhone (App Store)

6.1 If you bought Pro in the App Store, you ask Apple for a refund: reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides on the refund under its terms. We can't refund or cancel App Store purchases.

6.2 You also declare a withdrawal towards Apple. You can cancel in your Apple account under Subscriptions.

7. Business customers

Business customers have no statutory right of withdrawal. Voluntary refunds and refunds for defects follow Paddle's Refund Policy and section 14 of the Terms.

8. Contact
